RITE OF
BIRTH

THE SIREN EMERGES

SCROLL TO EXPLORE

THE IDEA

One single action is stretched through time.

Nikolina exits the dark pond water in a single act of extreme slow motion, with a wall of regular, square speaker subs behind her beating and waking her up.

A thirty-second editorial film introducing her new visual identity, the Siren, through the physical pull of sound.

01 —INTRODUCTION

A constant flow of water through a lit canal runs out.

02 —THE AWAKENING

Her silhouette is shot underwater, fully suspended and weightless, with her hair floating in the water.

A first speaker beat wakes her up, marking the start of her ascension.

03 —THE MIRROR

As the rhythm paces up, she keeps rising until she almost touches the thin veil of the water surface.

The surface reflects her appearance like a mirror. This moment is charged with tension and prolonged through extreme slow motion.

04 —THE EMERGENCE

As she emerges, she barely leaves the water surface. Water slips across her face and shoulders as the wall of square speaker cabinets pulses behind her.

05 —THE REVEAL

We cut to see her in the foreground, walking out of the black pool.

We approach her furtively and barely glimpse her aquatic appearance, revealing details of her body and transformed hands. The tension only releases in a wide shot, still in slow motion, revealing the circular pool from above.

As she rises from the water, the speaker vibrations grow louder. The film abruptly cuts to a static whistle.

IMAGE & MOVEMENT

We shoot in almost absolute darkness, using sculpted light to reveal her movement beneath the water and catch the thin reflective surface above.

Extreme macro photography reveals the intricate details of movement, while wider shots hold her full-body silhouette. Dedicated high-speed equipment stretches each gesture through time.

THE SIREN

Aquatic prosthetics and wet textures carry the new identity into the body.

Beauty and attraction hold something strange beneath the surface.

SOUND

The sound of running water gives way to a first speaker pulse, then the rhythm gathers force as she rises.

Sound drives her movement until the final whistle abruptly breaks the tension.

SET & CAPTURE

  • A black studio
  • A see-through pool
  • A wall of regular, square speaker subs

The see-through pool lets us shoot her silhouette underwater and move into extreme macro detail. Full slow motion will be captured with dedicated gear and a high-speed camera body.
